There's a group of friends, young adults, very educated and intellectual. One of these, a guy, brings a new girlfriend to meet his intellectual friends. The girlfriend is clearly not as clever as the guy and his friends. The guy and his friends (both young men and women) form a tight group. They make a road trip to some place out in nature. It's a sunny day, and they're telling stories. First one of the friends of the guy tells a story, which ends in a funny anecdote or punchline. This reminds the new girlfriend of something that happened to her, and she tells her story, which is somehow embarrassingly, awkwardly simple and stupid. After the girl has told the story, everyone else is waiting it to continue and expand, but it doesn't. The girl ends it with something like "and I thought it was nice"
So, which movie is this? First I remembered it was Reality Bites but no. Somehow it is similar to that, though, probably made in late 1990s.
